Determine the difference between photosynthesis and Respiration.
1.) Pond Gizmo and Graphing
2.) Graphic Organizer: photosynthesis vs. respiration.
3.) Photosynthesis vs. Respiration Gizmo
Goal: Determine the parts and functions of the cell.
1.) Brainstorm: What does a school need in order to function? Create list of structures and functions.
2.) Notes: Then create a function and structure chart for a cell. Students then go throughout the school and place signs on parts of the school with an explanation of why.
3.) Create cards for parts of the cell memory game-Part on one card and function on another.
4.) Play memory with Cell Parts.
5.) Cell Parts Memory Game.
Making Observations with Potato in different solutions. Try to guess which solution is which based on the potato. (0 salt, 1 tsp, 2 tsp, 3 tsp, 4 tsp, 5 tsp)
6.) Microscopes to look at prepared slides (drawing pictures, labeling cell parts and describing their functions.)
